I'm Married now and it's extraordinarily wonderful.

The day was amazing. An absolute blast with family and friends and my beautiful bride, Laura Casey nee Wowk.

We're honeymooning at the moment and it's like a dream.

I highly recommend it to anyone who's considering it.

Current mood: cheerful

I went to Queensland in the weekend for Laura's Aunty Lyn's wedding. IT WAS AWESOME!! Had a fantastic time partying hard - what better excuse than a wedding to let your hair down? Laura's Dad said I was an animal on the dance floor but no John Travolta...hahaha
Laura's family are great fun and lovely people. The little cousins are cute as munchkins. It was great to spend a whole weekend with Laura away from anything we had to do. :-) I love her to bits and can't wait til it's our turn!

My socks are done, so best hang up and hit the hay.

I can't believe I did it again.

I signed up to read at mass at my local parish and the first time I was due to read, I missed it because I totally forgot and was fast asleep. The second time I knew I was going to be away and had to swap with someone. I tried swapping with someone and then forgot about doing it in the mad rush preparing for going away...I only just remembered now. I'm terrible!

Laura was so tired tonight, she was basically falling asleep on the couch after tea so I bundled her off to bed. She was awfully cute. I'm up waiting for some socks to be washed so I can hang them up to wear tomorrow. I constantly run out of socks! I think the main reason is for lack of washing, which is simple enough to rectify. Will I? Unlikely, I'd say!

Had a great meal of chicken and veges tonight. I reached 67kg the last two nights! But not any more. I think it was all the beer I drank in Queensland. I didn't get really drunk at all, but just steady as she goes bottles of beer helped add to my water retention I think. 67.5kg is the most I've ever weighed so I was pretty close to that. Maybe I'm starting to finally fill out?

Filled out the Notice of Intended Marriage form tonight. It's less than two months to go, so need to get that sent off this week. It's exciting doing all this kinda stuff. We're counting down... rsvps are slowly dribbling in... a little quicker would be better, but we're not concerned. I know how hard it is for my friends and family in New Zealand to know if they can make it or not. Financially, it's a big ask for most of them, so I'll be really pleased whoever can come. I hope that I'll have a few friends there as well as family. So far, there's been no major surprises. Hopefully there'll be some good surprises soon though! :-D

I can't sleep. I have all sorts of things running through my head. And things that are far less important than sleep!

Laura took me out to dinner tonight to celebrate. We went to the Duckstein Brewery and I had German Meatloaf and their own Pale Ale. It was really tasty, although part of why I have been tossing and turning all night is that my digestive system has been gurgling away and made me feel quite uncomfortable. Something didn't agree with me today!

That's about all there is to say right now. I just had breakfast and I'm meant to get up in just over two hours for work.

In the last two weeks, I went and saw Josh Groban and Sarah Blasko in concert and they were both awesome! It was amazing how much they sounded like they do on the CD - I know that sounds weird - but it was really cool. There was a song that Josh Groban came out into the crowd right where we were and Laura and I were stupidly star struck. It was primo!

My singing has been ok, I had a performance last weekend that went really well. I managed to apply well over 50% of what I'd been working at with my teacher, so that was very satisfying.

I am sitting my practical driving test tomorrow afternoon again, for the sixth time in Perth, and ninth time in my driving career. I'm the most prepared I've ever been, so it will really be a test of how I go under pressure in the car. It's exciting and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm scared but man, I really want it!

Laura has been very annoyed at my weekend work of late. I'm working in my insurance job full-time during the week, and on most saturday or sunday nights, sometimes both at the wedding function centre behind the bar. She really wants me to quit, so she can have her Saturday nights with me. I really enjoy it, and I know that as I'll be off work for almost two months, I actually really need the pay to help me save money to sustain my time off work and it is something that I kinda enjoy doing. It does bugger me sometimes with the late nights.

I've been going well at my insurance job, they're very happy with me. I could happily do something else. I nearly always stretch the extra mile for it, and really, I oughtn't, but my performance is evidence of it, and I'm sure that eventually, I would receive my dues. However, who knows if I'll be around next year? Laura and I may be moving over east to Sydney, depending on the circumstances at the end of the year surrounding a singing competition she's in.

We've been watching Scrubs tonight. It's fun.

Oooh! All the invitations are out for the wedding which is very cool! :-)

Oh and my niece Hannah Olivia was christened recently and she's the cutest thing ever!

I've been participating in a Hayfever study over the last couple of months all in the name of science in the order of earning some extra cash. Luckily for me, I was randomly selected as the Control patient ie the one who takes the placebo. This was excellent because it meant I didn't need to suffer from Hayfever unnecessarily! However two of the seven visits involved having a nasal biopsy. This wasn't really that much fun.

We have old shaky surgeon shoving a pair of tongs/pincers up my nose and ripping a small piece of my nose out. Ouch! The first time the anaesthetic spray had worn off, and then my nose pissed out blood everywhere. The second time(today) my nose was thoroughly numb so didn't hurt. Both times he had to have a second attempt because he stuffed the first one up.  Today my nose steadily bled all day until about 5 o'clock when it started working overtime. It was so bad that I had resigned myself to going to the emergency department to get it cauterised, but just as Laura rolled up to pick me up, it seemed to finally stop bleeding. However, it hasn't stopped running, and my nose is red and raw from the constant attention it's been under today.

Laura is lovely to kiss for hours.

The good thing about the study is that I get $700 for my troubles. Which is going straight towards the honeymoon account!

On the weekend after my weeding efforts, the weeds got me back yesterday when my thorn-pricked index finger became infected as part of the thorn was still in it. It was swollen, angry looking and hurt to touch. My legs are suffering from a rash of hives of some kind currently  - whether this is related to my gardening endeavours I'm not sure of, as it seemed to happen at work - and are unbearably itchy. I'm wearing tights to create a certain constancy of touch rather than the constantly teasing touch of trouser legs upon them. My legs look sexy in the tights. ;-)

Sticky date pudding is so yummy!

I want my bike.

1:08AM - Weeds and Mosquitoes

I hate weeds and mosquitoes.

Weeds are vicious, self-gratifying, controlling, niggling, tough, selfish, underhand, slippery, smothering, sneaky, persistent, cheeky, invasive nasty little buggers.

I don't know how grass even has a chance sometimes.

And mozzies....grrr if there's one insect I will hunt down and destroy it is a mozzie. They look so evil, poised to jab poison into your skin, and their jet-engine whine sends tremors down my spine.
